Governance

Why Governance Matters?

While the Board remains accountable and responsible for the performance and affairs of the CSOS, it delegates to management and Board committees certain functions to assist the Board in properly discharging its duties. Each Board committee is constituted in terms of the KING III, PFMA and Treasury Regulations and acts within agreed, written terms of reference that are reviewed and updated annually. The chairperson of each Board committee reports back to the Board on the deliberation of the committee meetings and presents to the Board the committee’s recommendations.
The established Board committees are as follows:
  • The levies, registration and regulations committee assists the Board in discharging its responsibilities relating to the development, assessment, implementation, monitoring and review of the framework for the governance of levies, registrations and regulations of schemes.
  • The adjudication and governance committee assist the Board in discharging its responsibilities relating to the development and implementation of guidelines for the promotion of good governance of community schemes and the implementation of the CSOS the dispute resolution services.
  • The Audit, Risk and Finance Committee
  • The Human Capital and Remunerations Committee
